Collecting Physical Signatures on 6/9 and 6/10
I apologize for the short notice, especially since it's finals week, but we'd like to get the petition in before everyone leaves for the summer. We will be collecting signatures Thursday (6/9) from 12PM to 6PM, and Friday (6/10) from 12PM to 6PM. We will be in room 67 of the basement of Kemper Hall. Most of you probably know this room as the "graphics room" in the CSIF labs.
If you don't know where the room is, or if you don't want to walk that far, or if you can't make those times, comment on this post or email us at ecs142petition@gmail.com and we'll arrange something more suitable.

How many petitions were signed? Is there a fixed number that will get them to offer the course?
Thanks Bryan Bell http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~bjwbell/
The CS department requires 20+ students to register for the class to justify it being offered.
As of right now we have:
19 signatures of students who wish to take the class.
2 signatures of graduating seniors who support the petition.
3 of the students who have signed electronically have not yet given their physical signature.
Because the purpose of the petition is really just to get a headcount for the class, 19 (as of right now) will be used to gauge the class size.
Fallon has already written an e-mail to Prof. Bai, letting him know of our progress. Once we've collected all the signatures, we will be presenting the petition to him.
Many thanks to the people who want to take the class and for the support of those who are graduating!
Karen
